For those with no place to go or in need of emergency shelter, local Salvation Army homeless shelters provide a warm, safe place for men, women, and – whenever possible – families to stay. In cities where we do not operate homeless shelters, we offer financial assistance to cover emergency overnight housing costs or refer those facing housing and food insecurity to partner programs with emergency shelter services.

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD strives to provide high quality, efficient, and cost effective services so that persons with mental disabilities may live with dignity as fully functioning, participating, and contributing members of our community. We do not deny services based on a patient’s inability to pay, nor for any reason including race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Discounts are available based on family size and income, and a sliding scale rate schedule is available.
At the Community Assistance Center, we build strong relationships with our clients and their families by doing an individualized assessment of their specific needs during a time of instability. We access community resources, establish recovery goals, and provide opportunities to learn valuable workforce skills in order to establish a stronger foundation to train our clients to support themselves and their families.
